Tarte LipSurgence in Joy!

We have all been there, we find a lip stain, thinking it is going to be the perfect color. Only to try it out and realize that is dries your lips out like no other. Okay, no big deal you think, I will just put a lip balm over it. Now your lip stain is rubbing off! Oh NO! It's an endless cycle of applying the a drying stain, a balm to combat the dryness, and then having to start all over again when the stain comes off....

The cycle ends here!

Tarte LipSurgence lip tint!

Tarte LipSurgence in Joy
A tinted balm that moisturizes and stains lips with a wash of color at the same time! Sounds too good to be true, right? It NOT! This stuff is amazing. I had been eyeing this product for a few years but after having so many negative experiences with lip stains that didn't stain, or products that promised to be moisturizing but only ended up being drying, I was reluctant to spend $24 on it.

I was lucky enough to receive one in the color Joy, a nice peachy coral color, in my March Teen Vogue edition Birchbox, and was thrilled that I could finally try it out! Holy moly, I wish I had purchased a LipSurgence years ago! I wish I had purchased one in every color! I think this is my new staple lip color/balm/tint/everythingallinone!

I am not even going to lie, I have also swiped this on my cheeks when I have been out and about an needed a quick pop of color but didn't have blush on hand.

Tarte LipSurgence is a natural moisturizing lip tint that comes in a jumbo crayon form. LipSurgence is super easy to apply, so you don't even need a mirror to put it on. It also twists up so there is no need for a sharpener. The balm goes on super creamy and feels incredible on your lips. It is slightly minty which I find very refreshing! The moment you apply it you can feel that this product is different. It really does moisturize your lips!

LipSurgence lasts for quite awhile and then once it has worn off you are left with a nice stain, without your lips feeling dried out. I have been using this product for about 2 weeks and have noticed that my lips are definitely softer and smoother!

Another thing that I really love about the Tarte LipSurgence is that you can decide how much color you want. A quick swipe gives you a natural sheer wash of color, or you can build it up for a more opaque, bolder look. In the photo above you can see the top swatch is applied heavier and gives a brighter, more pigmented peachy look, while the bottom swatch is a single swipe and is a nice sheer peachy pink color.

Quick morning look using Tarte LipSurgence in Joy
Tarte LipSurgence is perfect for those mornings that you only have a few minutes to get ready (as a mom of a 9 month old, this is everyday for me), or for when you just want a more natural look. I paired the LipSurgence with Jouer's Mineral Bronzer in Sunshine and Eye Definer in Mure, finished it off with a little Maybelline mascara, twist my hair back into a low bun and I am ready to walk out the door!

Overall, I am in love with this product and am planning on purchasing several more colors! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something that is truly moisturizing with buildable color as well!
