Zoya's Cynthia and Maisie Swatch and Review

Let's take a look at Zoya's Cynthia and Maisie (Maisie is no longer available, but it is the same as Opal, except it had a blue base instead of green)!

Zoya describes Cynthia as a smoky, blackened peacock teal with soft warm undertones. It's very pretty. It is so dark that it almost looks black, but it definitely has depth and richness.

One coat is fairly sheer and you can really see the peacock color. It took three thin coats to get a nice even, opaque color. Cynthia dried down evenly and I didn't have any trouble with patchiness or bubbling. On it's own it dries pretty gloss and looked nice.

I decided to put Maisie over the top of it to break up how dark Cynthia is on it's own. I think it would be a better color to wear by it's self in the fall and winter, but it's a little dark and vampy (for my tastes) to be worn as a spring/summer color.

With Maisie on top it takes on a beautiful mermaid-esque feel. The mylar flecks in Maisie are a beautiful blue/green holographic color and they stand out really well against Cynthia.

Work of warning, Cynthia stains BAD, so be sure to use a base coat if having stained nails bothers you. I tend not to care since my nails are never bare, meaning no one ever sees any staining.

Overall, I am pleased with both Cynthia and Maisie and I think they are beautiful on their own, and worn together.
