About what the collection contains:
1. Powder Eyeshadow in:
-Pink Champagne - a shimmering soft pink.
-Caviar - a shimmering navy charcoal.
-Licorice - a soft matte black.
The powder eyeshadow retails for $20 each if purchased separately. They are described by Jouer as having an ultra satin-like texture with light diffusing mineral pigments. They are oil free, and can be used both wet or dry, as a shadow, shadow base, or a liner.
2. Eye Definer in Noir:
-A shimmering black. (Looks black with subtle gold shimmer)
Retails for $20.00. Contains vitamin E. Is smooth and creamy and smudge resistant. Comes with a sharpener.
3. Everyday Effortless Mascara in Noir.
-A rich black.
Retails for $24.00. Is clump resistant. It contains vitamin E and conditions and volumizes.
4. Travel Eyelash Curler
Not sold on its own. An eyelash curler that folds in half for easy storage and travel. Comes with an extra pad stored in the handle.
My thoughts:
The eyeshadows are wonderful. They easily rival my favorite Urban Decay and Stila shadows. They are soft and buttery with good pigmentation. I am also a huge fan of how each compact can be interlocked with other Jouer products to create a completely custom palette. The deep brown-grey packaging feels and looks really high quality and luxe.
In my previous Jouer post I reviewed another one of their Eye Definers and honestly didn't like it very much at all. It was dry and dragged and crumbled when I used it. I am SO glad that I was able to try a different one because my experience with this one couldn't have been farther from the one I had the first time. This liner is creamy and pigmented. It glides on so smooth and effortlessly. It is also very smudge resistant and it stayed on my eyes all day with out smudging or running.
The Everyday Effortless Mascara is really nice. It didn't smudge, run or clump. It did give me some volume and length, though not anything outrageous. I think it could be built up for more of a falsy look if you wanted it to be more dramatic though. I also liked that it didn't make my lashes hard and crunchy and it was fairly easy to wash off. The mascara also has a groove on the side of the tube (like the lip gloss) so that it can be connected to the other palettes/compacts.
The Eyelash Curler was a happy surprise for me. I honestly didn't have high hopes for it since I am not a fan of lash curlers. It's not so much the function part of curlers that I don't like, it's just that they are generally bulky and I don't have a ton of space to store them. This is a fabulous little curler though. It folds completely in half so that it is almost flat! So compact and easy to store. I love it. It also did a great job of curling my lashes without pinching or pulling any lashes.
Overall I think that this collection is a fantastic value, considering that you get over $100 worth of products for $80 and everything is great quality. I think this would be a wonderful gift to give someone as well.
