August 2013 Birchbox

My August Birchbox arrived! I was really impressed with my box this month.

The theme for this month was Finishing School. In my box I received:

-AveneThermal Spring Water facial mist:  a hydrating facial mist. Pretty self explanatory.

-Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper: a serum that is meant to help define and de-frizz curls.

-Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes: antibacterial hand and foot wipes.

- stila stay all day liquid lipstick in beso: a beautiful blue based red, matte, long wearing liquid lipstick.

-Benefit Cosmetics Trio- Triple Performing Facial Emulsion, Total Moisture Facial Cream and It's Potent Eye Cream: a three step hydrating and brightening system.

Overall, I was very happy with the mix of skincare, makeup and hair care items. I have my Birchbox profile stating that I can't get enough skincare items, so this box was great for me.

The stila lipstick is beautiful and I was very impressed with how long it stayed on. I also like that even though it's a long wearing lipstick it didn't dry my lips out, even without a balm over it. A lot of liquid lipstick are drying, but with the stila my lips felt soft and hydrated the entire time I had it on. It also smells really good. I couldn't quite figure out what it smells like, but it is nice. Beso is a nice true, blue based red. It's a very universally flattering color and the type of red that I love wearing in the fall and winter.

The Benefit items have all felt really nice. They are definitely hydrating and I like that they haven't irritated my skin or broken me out.

I haven't tried the Curly Hair Solutions product, the facial spray or the feet wipes yet, but I will update as soon as I try them.

Zoya's Fall 2013 Satin Collection

Hello, today I have Zoya's Satin Fall 2013 Collection for you!

This collection contains five stunning shimmer/metallic polishes and one topper.

1. Neve- sapphire blue metallic.
2. Giovanna- emerald green metallic.
3. Channing- rusty/coppery red metallic.
4. Claudine- dark meteorite grey metallic.
5. Mason- red/violet "fandango" pink metallic.
6. Maria Luisa- gold cellophane accent topper.

I found the formula of these polishes to be on the thin side, but it did not make them difficult to apply. They went on smoothly and flowed off of the brush easily. Most of them were completely opaque in two coats, though I found Channing and Mason needed a third thin coat to be completly opaque.

Maria-Luisa was easy to apply and could be added as a topper to the other polishes or worn on it's own. It was easy to remove, but I did have a problem with the cellophane flakes sticking all over my fingers when I took it off.

My favorites from this collection would be Neve, Giovanna and Mason. These three just seemed to glow on my nails. Very beautiful!

My overall thought on the collection is that they are beautiful colors and, as usual, I found no problems with the formula.

The polishes in this collection can be purchased from www.zoya.com for $8 each, or as a set of 6 for $48.

Zoya's Fall 2013 Cashmere Collection

Today I have the Zoya Fall 2013 Cashmere Collection for you!

The Cashmere Collection is six beautiful cream shades:

1. Livingston- a lush autumn red.
2. Sailor- a classic dark navy.
3. Hunter- a dark sea green.
4. Louise- a rich chocolate brown.
5. Flynn- a lush camel brown.
6. Pepper- a brick red.

I found each formula in this collection to be wonderful. Neither too thick or thin. They all applied beautifully without steaks, and dried down to an even glossy finish. They were all opaque in two coats except for Livingston which I found needed three for full opacity.

Sometimes creams can be a pain in the butt to apply, but I liked these and can see myself using them a lot this fall and winter.

Each of the polishes in the Cashmere Collection can be purchased at www.Zoya.com for $8 each, or as a set of 6 for $48.
